11/3 playoff update


NCHSAA boys' soccer
The Observer's Sweet 16's No. 1 team, Hough, was eliminated in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A boys' soccer playoffs as Ardrey Kell outlasted them 2-1 Wednesday.



The Huskies were one of six local teams that fell in the first round of their respective brackets. Only Lake Norman Charter, which had a bye in the 1A bracket, 2A's East Lincoln and South Iredell and 4A's Lake Norman will play in the next round.

NCHSAA girls' tennis
Lake Norman's girls' tennis team was eliminated from the NCHSAA dual team playoffs Monday, losing to Myers Park 5-1. The Mustangs lost Wednesday in the state semis to Greensboro Grimsley.
